Dubai Civil Defence Approves Al Gurg Fosroc’s Vapour & Waterproofing Systems
Al Gurg Fosroc has become one of the first construction chemical companies to receive Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) approval for their cement-based and modified polyurethane based façade vapour proof and waterproof systems since the introduction of the updated UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice.
Tested and certified for Class A under ASTM E84, Fosroc's Brushbond, Nitocote CM210 and Nitoproof 600 solutions meet all current DCD requirements.
In a bid to improve fire safety, the latest Code requirement requires building owners and consultants to improve overall fire and life safety in the country by following strict requirements on material selection, performance characteristics, QA/QC and testing processes of insulating materials.
John Magdy, Regional Product Segment Manager - Al Gurg Fosroc says: "UAE’s latest fire code requirements are aimed at improving the overall quality of consultancy and construction services in the country to enforce best practise in fire and life safety of a building. Being one of the first construction chemical companies to achieve full DCD certification for façade vapour proof and waterproof systems allows Al Gurg Fosroc to promote its façade systems throughout the region and for architects and consultants to have the comfort that they are specifying the latest compliant technology systems."
Al Gurg Fosroc’s DCD certified solutions include:
- Fosroc Brushbond
- Fosroc Nitocote CM210
- Fosroc Nitoproof 600, hybrid polyurethane
