New Conbextra Cable Grout
Fosroc UK & ROI are announcing the launch of a new grout for post-tensioned concrete, Conbextra Cable Grout. It forms part of the Conbextra product range, which is based on over 60 years of industry-recognised and proven technology.
The CARES approved, single component, shrinkage-compensated grout has been specifically designed for pre-stressed and post-tensioned cable ducts. Post tensioning is typically used on public and institutional buildings, commercial/mix development projects, large warehouses, residential blocks and civil engineering structures such as bridges. As a more sustainable method of construction, post-tensioned structures are lighter and use less concrete for a lower carbon footprint.
Conbextra Cable Grout is pre-bagged to overcome site batched variations and outperforms a leading competitor equivalent product for minimal plastic shrinkage, meeting all EN specification requirements. There are fewer air bubbles present in the grout with no foam layer forming on the top surface, and it has a self-dry capability for application speed. Its highly fluid composition makes it ideal for penetrating small gaps and cracks between tendons to minimise voids, and its resistance to bleed and separation produces a high quality, long-lasting finish. The grout only contains chloride-free admixtures, while its alkaline properties provide excellent protection to steel cables and reinforcement.
