Gangwon-do Wind Farm
Fosroc sales & technical teams worked closely with the contractor and the applicator to deliver Conbextra VG as well as a full scope technical training & certification to the applicator.
THE PROJECT
Gangwon-do is a mountainous terrain that proves to be advantageous for wind power resources. The province holds a great number of wind turbines that were previously erected to serve the grid line for the area. A new wind farm was planned by Chungsan Wind Power Generation to be constructed in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea.
The project consisted of six Vestas V126-3.6MW wind turbines, that required a total of 40 tons of grout to be grouted in a deep trench foundation.
Due to the project scheduling, the grouting process had to take place in winter when the temperature was approximately 5oC. This is turn required special considerations to be taken into the grouting procedure and specific guidance from Fosroc team to ensure that Conbextra VG was successfully grouted.
THE SOLUTION
Fosroc sales & technical teams worked closely with the contractor and the applicator to deliver Conbextra VG as well as a full scope technical training & certification to the applicator. Fosroc then offered comprehensive technical service at site assuring that the grouting procedure was completed as per project requirements.
THE BENEFIT
The ultra-high strength of Conbextra VG made sure that all the turbine requirements were met in due time. The project owner was also very well pleased with the commitment and support that Fosroc had to offer throughout all the stages of the grouting scope. Fosroc’s short chain to technologists and experts allowed the project to receive utmost care and attention which helped assure the job is nothing short of success.
