The project involved Almatti Dam repair work to increase the height of the dam and increase the water storage capacity, as well as to stop the water seepage from the body of the dam and make the body of the dam leakage proof.
THE PROJECT
The project involved Almatti Dam repair work to increase the height of the dam and increase the water storage capacity, as well as to stop the water seepage from the body of the dam and make the body of the dam leakage proof.
THE SOLUTION
Loose debris was removed by mechanical means and with a high pressure water jet. Nitobond EP was applied, followed by Renderoc HS Xtra and cured for 28 days. Thereafter, water-repellent Nitocote SN522 was applied.
THE BENEFITS
All honeycombs and voids in concrete were effective filled and closed with Renderoc HS Xtra, that aided in effectively sealing the joint between the old dam portion and the extended portion above it, along the length of the entire dam.
